“Assurances Robichaud Insurance” has been meeting the insurance needs of its clients, at the same location in Kapuskasing, Ontario since 1927. Relationships with some insurance companies date back over 50 years.

Originally known as “A. Falardeau & Son Insurance Brokers”, the insurance brokerage company was purchased by “Paul Ayotte Insurance Broker” in 1981, and managed by Guy Robichaud. A pre-arranged buy-out agreement allowed Guy Robichaud to purchase the company from his employer, as of January 1991.

A period of expansion followed. New technologies available to the industry were eagerly embraced. Offices were opened in Hearst, 100 km northwest of Kapuskasing and Marathon, 450 km southwest of Kapuskasing. These new ventures quickly contributed to the growing clientele list of the brokerage.

In May of 1999, the brokerage became a subsidiary of the publicly traded “Hub International” brokerage firm. Guy Robichaud was named as Regional President for the subsidiary, with the mandate to continue to grow in the northern and northwestern areas of the province.

A subsequent change in “Hub International's” focus, prompted Guy Robichaud, with his son Kevin Robichaud as partner, to re-acquire the brokerage, including its satellite offices. In 2001, the new corporation was named “Assurances Robichaud Insurance”.

The acquisition and merger of another brokerage firm, also in 2001, has provided “Assurances Robichaud Insurance” with additional resources, to continue its quest, of offering choice and expanded services to its clients.
